Event terms can surge, but windows are narrow
Sports finals, award shows, and global launches can spike rapidly. The challenge is that these peaks are often short windows around key dates.
Outside those windows, evergreen demand from big brands or major platforms usually reclaims the lead.
Use relevance and recency together
When judging an event term, ask two questions: Is it globally relevant? Is the event timing close enough to drive active searches?
If either answer is weak, default to the evergreen option.
